About Me

Phil Ainscough

Independent Operational Improvement Consultant

I have over 10 years of experience helping organisations improve operational flow, simplify processes, and deliver sustainable change across healthcare and public sector environments.

My background spans operational improvement, project delivery, process improvement, and coaching teams through change. I work closely with people at all levels of organisations, recognising that those closest to the work are the experts, and that sustainable improvement comes from clarity, trust, and shared understanding.

Diagnosed with ADHD, I have developed a strong appreciation for structure, calm, and focus in complex environments. This has shaped my working style and underpins my ability to bring structure and clarity during periods of uncertainty and change — bringing clarity where there is noise.

About Akari Pathways

Akari means light.

Akari Pathways reflects a belief that transformation does not need to be overwhelming or disruptive. Inspired by the Japanese principle of Kaizen (continuous improvement), the focus is on guiding organisations toward clarity — helping people see problems more clearly, make better decisions, and move forward with confidence.

Akari is not just about illumination, but guidance: supporting organisations through periods of change with a calm, practical, and people-centred approach.
